We have here a sweet Fender Jazz Deluxe V Mexican-made "Frankenbass" that I assembled in 2009-2010 from parts. Gigged a lot with this bass in its earlier days and it always plays and sounds great. Plays as well as my American-made Deluxe Jazz V.

Pretty much looking for a straight sale as I have plenty of basses.
Here are the particulars: Neck
is a 2000 Fender "Deluxe Series" 5-string that I acquired here on TB. Has the nice yellowed look of a 13-year old Fender. Couple of nicks on the headstock just south of the "F" in the Fender logo. No cracks of any kind. Neck is straight. Truss rod works. Original Gotoh tuners and Pao-Ferro board. Standard 20 frets. Frets look almost new - very little wear. This is a sweet neck and in great condition for being 13+ years old. Body
is dated March 02, 1998. Glossy sheen has been sanded off so it's basically a flat black in color. A few minor dents around the edges here and there but nothing major and nothing through the finish. I added copper shielding to the pickup and control cavities. It currently sports a tortoise-shell PG but I'll also include the white one it came with. It's really very good condition for a 15-year-old body. Pups
are Fender SCN noiseless 5-string bass pickups acquired here on TB.
The pre-amp is an Audere
3B. This one has the 6-position "Z-Mode" switch in the 4th position. The other knobs are Volume (top position), stacked Mid over Balance in the 2nd position, stacked treble over bass in the 3rd position. It has the Audere battery indicator light. These are really outstanding pre-amps. If you're not familiar with them - check them out at http://www.audereaudio.com
. You can get any sound you want out of this bass. Dunlop Strap-Loks
installed. I put these on all my basses. Fender molded HS case
This case is the one that came with my 2008 American Deluxe V. It's in good shape but has never completely closed all the way at the bottom. All the latches work and it does a good job of protecting the instrument.
Weighs in around 10 lbs, give or take a little.
