FS ONLY: 2000 USA Spector NS-JH5

Just got this bass from fellow TB'er basskillah back in March ( FS: U.S.A. SPECTOR NS-JH5CM ). I have to start off by saying that this has got to be one of the best-playing basses I've ever owned! That being said however, I'm selling on because it's got much too "modern" a tone for my current needs and tastes (hey... I'm an "old-schooler"). It came to me with an awesome setup, and I was able to dial it in again once I loaded my preferred strings (Dean Markley Will Lee's). It's got a great EMG pickup/EQ arsenal that sounds wicked at all but maybe the most extreme settings (and even those sound good!).

Things to mention? Not much! A couple of wear marks (thumbnail above the J pup, wee spot of belt rash above the control compartment cover, a couple of pea-sized dings on the top of the headstock), non-original strap buttons, and Gary Willis-style tuning machines (very nice!). One of the neck bolts seemed to have been stripped out (we did the old "toothpick" fix, and it seems to have taken). And finally, while this never presented a problem during a gig, the battery box seems to be about ready for replacing; if you actually take the time to fiddle and tap on the lid with your finger, it occasionally creates audible "snaps and pops" from the circuit. I know it's a simple fix, but it will have to be the next owner that takes care of it! I've included one of the pics from basskillah's listing as a quick reference, but if you'd like some nice, big closeup pics, I can send those directly to you... just shoot me a PM!

I got a really great price on this bass from basskillah, so I'm passing that "luck" along to the next owner; $1250 shipped in the CONUS. I've got it listed locally as well, so good luck!

PM replied...

I've already fielded a couple of trade/trade+cash offers... unfortunately, this one'll have to remain a FS ONLY proposition, since I already have the replacement for the Spector in hand, and would like to recoup some of that expenditure!
