FS - 2001 Warwick Corvette Standard 5 Active

Sign in to disble this ad
For sale is a 2001 (German made) Warwick Corvette Standard 5-string active bass. Plays and sounds great, just not my thing. It's not in perfect condition: there is thumb wear above the neck p/u. It's created a bit of a divot. Also there are a few scratches by the volume pot and a ding in the headstock where it would hang. It's definitely been used, but this thing feels awesome. Still looks really nice for a used bass. Ask me any questions about it.

SOLD!

Will ship with rock bag. Top pocket on the bag is ripped, but still holds the wax. Left strap is ripped but works fine. It's a nice bag.

Awesome

Bump for a German made bass that's destined to become a classic. They don't make these anymore, guys.

Hi there,

How would you describe the low B on this? It's a rare 5 string that has an absolute killer B; is this one average, better than average, or on the wooly side?

Also: I've noticed that string holes on Warwick bridges tend to be drilled awfully tight for fat B strings; have you had to stick to moderate gauge B strings?

Thanks.

Oops, I forgot: What's the string spacing at the bridge?
And what's it weigh, about?

Thanks.

Admittedly, the B is a bit wooly unplugged. I kind of like that, though, because it balances out the hotness of the MEC's and the brightness of the bell-brass frets. I think the B on this sounds better than the B on my MIA J.

It weighs 10.8 pounds. I haven't measured, but as I understand it the string spacing is 16.5 mm. I've never changed the strings on it, but the previous owner has a non-tapered B and it looks pretty tight.

Thanks -- exactly what I wanted to know.

Best of luck. This is a terrific deal! Imagine the flashy crap some poor kid could come home with from the GC for the same money. This is a _real_ gigging bass for a pro, minus unnecessary bells and whistles.

Price drop bump. $550 shipped Con. US. Local sale gets it for $500. Also interested in 4 string trades. Please no MIM. Looking for MIJ, HWY1, or comparable P's; geddy lee jazz, or other similar quality 4-strings. Let me know what you have.

It's looking like it's soon to be out to Austin, but I'll let you know if for some reason it doesn't work out.
