This instrument was released in 2002 as a limited edition bass in the BTB line. The neck is asymmetrically carved to allow easier reach to the lower strings. The string spacing is slightly wider than other five string instruments - somewhere in between a regular four string and five string spacing - which I find makes slap work much easier. The Bass boost/cut knob sticks a little, but does not affect the tone.
This bass has a very versatile range of applications. Overall the tone is a little punchier than average, as you can expect with active electronics, but this can be smoothed out with the balance feature on the EQ and pickup selection if the situation demands a rounder tone.
EDIT: This instrument was made in Japan.

How heavy? What kind of B do we have? A lot of 35's still lack a tight, defined B. Btb's look like they have it all...........but you never know till play one and I haven't.
thanks
Oh, forgot to ask...........How much.......sometimes the price will vary over time.....?
I know.........I have a Cort RB5 with Basslines and a Foundation S with Bartolini's on consignment at the local music store.........

I owned a six string version of this bass and with a slightly heavier string gauge, the B string was very tight and focused. These basses sound killer!
