FS: 2005 Lakland DJ5, 2002 Spector NSCR4FM

Sign in to disble this ad
These are for sale only. Trying to clear out.

Spector NSCR4FM. $750 shipped firm. Solid flame maple body wings (not the newer Euro LX sandwich construction). Real active EMG's, EMG BTS preamp (boost/cut unlike the newer boost only tonepump). This bass plays like a dream with a low settup.

Weight: 9.25lbs
OHSC included

Condition: I'll let the pictures talk. Its a stunning bass. Color seems to vary a lot depending on lighting. Appears almost dark maroon under incandescent lighting, becomes much more vivid under bright lighting. The color is called Plum. There are some dings. this is a gigging bass. One below the P pickup that was caused by a mike stand collision, another by the input jack, a mark on the neck, and one at the top of the lower horn, check the pictures, tried to capture everything.

First picture is an older picture, that gives you a better idea of the color in an indoor lighting environment. No flash used.

(obviously its the four string)

More recent outdoor photos:

2005 Lakland DJ5 - $999.00 shipped - Temporarily not for sale, see post #8
Weight: 10.5 lbs (yep, DJ's are heavy)
35" Scale
Comes with vintage (1989!) Fender Tweed HSC
This is an older MIK Skyline, and as such these should be the Aero pickups (they're original)
Excellent condition other than a ding on the backside of the headstock that I tried to capture. This will also come with multiple pickguards. I'll get photos of them later (the original pickguard, plus a white pearl guard and the abalone guard you see here) Added neck pickup cover.

This bass is not plek'd, but it takes just as good a settup as my plek'd JO5 that I also have listed.

Hey Pablo, thanks for interest, but I've actually got a deal pending on the DJ. Original post is now updated.

If the Spector is truely a 2002, it has to be a "Euro4" as these took over in 2001.

The easy way to tell is if the serial is simply four digits it is a "NSCRFM" series but is older than 2002.

If the serial starts with "NB" followed by four digits (NBxxxx), then it's a "Euro" series.

The "sandwiched" "Euro LX" series started in 2004.

okay, thanks phatbastard. I was told by the previous owner that it was an 02. it is a four digit serial, so its an NSCR.

Folks, the sale of the DJ is temporarily on hold until I can get this issue checked out that I discovered last night. The bass has literally only been in my possession for two days and I just noticed it. Need to find out what it is and figure out what to do from there.

I figured as much when you mentioned the pre.
The Euros started with the Aguilar OBP-1 and switched to the Tone Pumps about a year later.
They stopped using any EMG pre's in the imports When the Euros started in 2001 (although, knowing Spector, I'm sure there are a few "transitions" floating around).

That's a nice price either way.
