It's my last Lakland and I swore I would never sell it but desperate times call for desperate measures. This is a VERY sweet Lakland my friends. One of you needs to make it yours. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. |

| | Basses R Loaded! | | Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Centennial, Colorado | | | I just got an email from a guy who apparently knows about these basses and actually owns the original "Willie Weeks Prototype". In the interest of full disclosure here is what he had to say: "I spoke to the former owner about it when he tried to sell it as the Willie Weeks Prototype. I thought about buying it to complement mine. Mine has a Maple board. I have the actual Willie Weeks prototype. It is serial# WWX. I have a letter of Authenticity from Dan Lakin, who I (years ago) collected/traded G&L basses and Stingrays with. Mine was made in 99. I dont know what month. Yours was probably made shortly thereafter. 1999 or 2000"
So based on this it looks like the bass is a lot older than I thought. More like 9 or 10 years old, rather than only 3. Just wanted you all to know in case it makes a difference to anyone.

Bump for an awesome Bass made for an awesome Bassist.
Good Luck.
Too bad I can't snag this
God Bless, Ray
