FS: 2007 MTD 635-24

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD: 2007 MTD 635-24.

For sale is my newly acquired MTD 635-24 s/n 1527. Strikingly beautiful bass in near mint condition (just a bit of wear on the pickups, bridge, and zero fret). The bass has articulate fingerstyle response and great slap tones with plenty of tight lows and a bright high end. I just traded for this bass here on TB but must sell to finance a purchase of an older European double bass.

Specs: very comfortable for a six string

BODY TOP: Maple Burl
BODY: Ash
NECK: Ash
FINGERBOARD: Maple
HARDWARE: Black
WEIGHT: approximately 10 lbs.
PICKUPS: Bartollini
PREAMP: Bartollini w/ vol, blend, bass, mid, hi, and mid select switch (250K, 500K, 1000K)
SCALE: 35 inches
STRING SPACING: 18mm at the bridge
CASE: MTD hardshell case

Asking $3200 $3100 shipped insured CONUS. $3000 for local SF Bay Area pickup. PayPal only-SORRY NO TRADES. Just strung with new MTD custom medium steel strings and will ship with a brand new set of DR Marcus Miller Fat Beam strings (6 string set). Send PM with questions-additional photos available upon request. Thanks for looking!

Great bass! Used to be mine and probably should have kept it.

Yeah, I had it for a brief stint, its a great bass and I wish I could have kept it. Unfortunately, my wrists would scream at me for playing it. The ash neck has an incredible feel.

Totally agree with this. I feel somewhat responsible for it making the rounds. I was the second owner and sold it early last year in one of my stupid attempts to downsize.

I've owned 5 MTDs and played many more, and none came close to this one. It had all that zing MTDs are known for, but was also a bit more punchy than any MTD I've heard...it sat perfectly in the mix.

I actually owned a Cherryburst MTD 535 at the same time I owned this one, and that one sat in the case while I spent all my time with this.

Thanks, moorebass. The ash neck on this MTD gives it that extra articulation throughout all frequencies-it just sounds bright and punchy up and down the neck. No doubt this bass would stay with me if I wasn't upgrading my acoustic bass.

This beauty is still available...

Would you take one immortal soul? Lightly used, but I've been told it's not to late to save it.

Soul's considered, lousybassplayer, but cash is king (I know that sounds just awful!)

Bass is still available-put a brand new set of MTD custom medium strings on last night-it just sings!
