FS: 2008 Fender Am Std P-Bass modded with L. Fralin PJ Pickups

Sign in to disble this ad
Up for sale is the following:

2008 Fender American Standard Precision PJ

Alder Body
Maple Neck
Black with Black PG

I have had it professionally modded with a set of Lindy Fralin PJ pickups. The controls are now V/V/T with a side jack mounted. A local luthier did the pickup and jack routing, so they look factory.

First off, I think the Fralins are a big improvement over the stock Fender pickups, but that can be persoanal taste. Adding the stacked J to this bass really opens up alot more tonal versatility as well. I've played this bass with Blue Steels in a hard rock/metal band down to flats for some alt-country, blues, etc. It is currently strung with flats.

The 2008 American Standards were a big upgrade from Fender in my opinion (I used to have two older MIA P's as well). The bridge, light tuners, etc. really are nice.

The bass also has Schaller straplocks on it.

It will ship in an older Fender P case. Works fine, good protection but has lots of stickers on it and is missing one of the little metal feet. However, it will get the bass there safe and sound. If you are interested, I have a brand new MBT Cases gig bag that I can add for $25. It has never been used. Up to you.

The reason I'm selling is that I just don't like P necks anymore. Both my Sadowsky's have Will Lee necks, so they are exceptionally narrow. I ended up getting a Lakland 44-64 to have a P with a Jazz neck.

The bass is in good shape. There is some belt rash and denting on the back, but not through the finish. The pickguard has some scratching. There is a rather deep ding you can see in a picture near the tone control. You should see it in the closeup.

$975 Shipped in the Continental US.

Fender hardshell case (older model - I am keeping the Fender road case for my Lakland).

Note one missing foot on case.

Bump. I'm open to offers but to be honest, I have more gear than I know what to do with at the moment! If it was a trade, I'd be more interested in recording gear or keyboard gear. Feel free to make a cash offer as well.

Free bump for the Fralin P/J setup - I've got those in my main player, and in my opinion it doesn't get much better for a passive Fender.

Thanks, it is a great setup. I've played it with nickels in a hard rock band to flats playing alt country. It does both beautifully.

Bump. I know a lot of you guys love the Hot Rod P, this one smokes it in my opinion. The routing has been done and well over $200 for the Fralin set. If for some reason someone is really wanting the American Standard case, I can include that instead. Just say the word.

Who Dat gonna buy this bass- BUMP?

Bump for a nice P...I'm dying here...waiting for my repair guy to call me to go pick up my 2011 American Std that he's routing for a J pickup. I opted for a Dimarzio PJ set though.

Also, I assumed you were a Saints fan...pardon me if I'm incorrect!

I will trade you my 2011 American Standard Jazz for this? Bass for bass but man I need to have that better hard shell as mine has the new case . All the case candy etc. FYI has a ding but still think its a fair trade! I'm a P Bass Neck guy!
