I am selling my 2008 American Deluxe Fender Jazz. It is like new, never gigged and from my non-smoking home. Still has the original strings. In the Fender new-style OHSC with all the case candy such as the strap, adjusting allen wrenches, etc. It has the 18 volt active EQ, Hipshot ultra-light tuners, noiseless pickups, and top load or through body string options. I only recently took the pickguard plastic and control panel plastic off.
The neck is a delight to play and is a cut above American Standard Jazz basses that I have played both in feel and attention to detail that went into making it. It balances great on the strap too.
I tried to do my best with the pictures but the reflections were a problem.
In answer to a few questions: The bass comes in at 8.6lb on my bathroom scale. The neck pocket is very tight on this bass and I can't find any dead spots on the neck. As I mentioned in the first post, this is a very well-crafted instrument.
I have no real reason but I usually shy away from the active fenders but man nella thats a nice looking bass and a good weight too!
You have no reason to shy away from this model. I just traded for one and was very surprised at the tone coming from it. To my ear, the bass has a classic Fender sound. I boost the highs just a bit. That's all it needs, IMO. I think it's a wonderfully thought out and well built instrument. I would buy another.
