This beautiful bass isn't getting enough play time and I have my eye on something else so I'm offering it up to see what kind of interest there might be.
Prior to owning this bass I had never played a Pavel and I must say that these are incredibly responsive and beautiful instruments.
When I received this bass it had a pair of single coil Duncan J's in it along with an older Aguilar OPB-1. The treble control was actually accessed through a small hole in the control cavity cover on the back of the body. I found this setup be be rather impractical for me.
I decided to replace the pickups with a pair of hum-canceling Sadowsky J's and I swapped out the old OBP-1 for a new OBP-3 which is much more flexible. Now the controls on the front are Volume, Blend, Midrange (Push/Pull for different mid EQ) and Stacked Treble/Bass. The mini toggle switch is for switching from active to passive mode.
I find that this pickup/preamp combination works very well on this bass. It's dead quiet and the low end generated from the B string is deeper and richer than any bass I've ever played yet it retains it's definition and clarity. Really quite amazing!
The body is very lightweight and resonant Alder and the top is a gorgeous piece of Spalted Maple. This bass has a very open and organic feel to it. It's also a slapper dream!

All of these photos (except for the last one) were taken before I had the preamp and pickups changed out which is why you don't see the stacked Treble/Bass control knobs. You can see them in the last photo.
