For sale is my 2010 Ernie Ball MusicMan Big Al bass guitar. I am the original owner. The Big Al not only has cool visual appeal but also tremendous tonal versatility.
It has three single-coil pickups in a “strat” configuration, each of which can be selected individually or in combination.
The electronics can be played in active or passive modes. When passive mode is activated you use one tone control roll-off like a P-bass. When in active mode a separate four-band EQ is engaged (similar to a Bongo or 25th Anniversary Stingray). There are several other modes that can be activated as well.
This all makes for a bass with a huge number of tonal options, which can be used for a wide variety of musical styles and is at equally home with slap, finger-style and a pick. Plus the damn thing looks so cool!
This one has all the bells and whistles with a beautiful three-tone sunburst and matching headstock plus a tortoiseshell pick guard. It is truly a well-crafted instrument in excellent condition, not a scratch.
