Up for sale is a 2012 Pro Series Warwick Corvette Ash 4-String with Nordstrand NJ4 Pickups & Nordstrand 3b Preamp (wired Vol/Vol, Mid, Bass/Treb).

Wenge Fretboard

The bass in dead mint condition, only a few months old. I'm the only owner. Rear route is slightly bigger then neck pickup.

8.8lbs weight.

The Nordstrand Pickups & Preamp make this bass miles better then stock. The MEC Active pickups were the definition of "compressed" sounding... they don't have nearly the clarity and attack of these Nordstrand NJ4's. The Preamp is amazing, voiced to be extremely transparent with EQ center's in all the rigth spots.

Amazing instrument for the cost, but I find I can get similar tones out of my Warwick Jazzman using the rear coils in "jazz mode". Trying to slim down the heard.

$950 - Bass (brand new 2 months old)
$100 - Pickups
$210 - Preamp
$1260 Total.

I'm interested. How does it compare to the sound of a Wick $$? I loved my $$ but not that it was a 5. I'm trying to replace that growl in a 4.

A great bass at a superb price !!! Go for it !!! I just purchased a Fender bass and I would have bought that one !!!

The Wick $$ IMO is honestly muddy. The Corvetter has a much more crisp / precise tone.

If you want Growl - this bass has loads of it, espcially favoring the bridge pickup with a touch of boost at bass & low mids at 400hz (Nordstrand Preamp is amazing). Or you can dial in some grind by boosting at 1K.

EDIT: you can also get very smooth "jazzy" tones out of it as well by cutting high mids at 1K and dialing out the "edge".

I have never owned a Warwick, and my next bass IS going to be a Warwick. As soon as my Federal taxes come in I'll be seeking one out, but in the interim this one is killing me - I love every single thing about it and can't pull the trigger right now!
