OK, pics first--they tell most of the story:
So, I recently bought this off Ebay because it looks simply
badass. It was accurately and honestly described as a no-name parts bass--I'm pretty sure BCR had nothing to do with any portion of this bass.

The biggest surprise when I got it is that the neck feels
great and the tone is pretty nice too!
The Warlock body is a classic neck-diver, so I added the Steinberger strap hook extension, and that makes it hang
much better. The only reason I'm selling it is there are other things I want to upgrade on it--lightweight tuners, install a preamp, black bridge and knobs, etc.--and frankly I have too many expensive project basses already. Now, this bass is not a "project" in that you
need to do anything to it; it is ready to rock as it is. But I know if i keep it I will end up spending a lot more on it than I can justify right now.
Defects: There are a few extra holes in the back where the previous owner tried different strap-button placements. The control cavity cover plate is home-made, and it cracked around the screws. There are assorted small scuffs and scratches (but no notable dents or chips).
The body wood is unknown, neck is maple. The fingerboard is rosewood that has been colored black on the surface (your guess is as good as mine). Both the fingerboard and the back of the neck have a smooth matte surface, very quick and comfortable. The neck profile is surprisingly awesome, at least to my tastes-- sort of P-bass like, but with medium thickness. 34" scale, 1.75" nut, 16mm string spacing at the bridge. The fingerboard taper is wide enough that I'm pretty sure you could get 19mm spacing just with a different bridge. The strings on it are some nice flatwounds, and the tone as-is is more jazzy than metally. Controls are passive V/V/T, pickups are passive. I don't see any brand markings anywhere on any component (but I haven't disassembled it).
It weighs only 7.25 lbs.!!!!!
So... bottom line. I paid $185 shipped for it, plus $30 for the Steinberger hook. So ideally I'd like to make that back, $215 shipped in the US. I like the Steinie hook and would use it on one of my other basses, so if you don't want it then I'll keep it and your price is $185. I'm also willing to separate the loaded body and the neck--but only if the body sells first.

Harder to figure out how to price them separately, but let's say $105 for the neck, and $110 for the body with the hook, $80 for the body sans hook. I'm not that into haggling right now just because I actually like this bass plenty, so I'm not in any rush to unload it.
The only trades I'm interested in at this time are:
--Ultralight tuners by Hipshot or Gotoh;
--TRS to TRS cables, good quality;
--compressors that I have not reviewed yet;
--ACG preamp (+ cash from me).
Let me know if you have any questions,
thanks!
