FS: 57' Fender P bass Clone - Lake placid/gold pick guard

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello all, up for sale is one of my favorite P basses of all time.

Here are the specs;

Original lake placid blue MIM Fender P bass body with 57' reissue Gold anodized pick guard
Maple/Maple P bass skunk stripe neck with 1 5/8" nut width and modern neck profile
Chrome American made Fender "F" tuners
Chrome "ashtray" covers
Chrome vintage style bridge
Chrome Hipshot string retainer
Chrome Dunlap strap locks
Tesla "50's" style P bass pickup
Passive USA CTS pots with .047 tone cap wired with Vintage cloth wiring
Topped off with Curt Mangan hybrid flat wound strings.

Everything has been shielded and grounded properly for extremely quiet operation.

Neck has been finished in a proprietary Oil/poly blend for a slick/fast neck. You want classic P bass "dub-dub"? well here it is.

Of course with every bass I work on or build, the neck has been given the full treatment. The fretboard edges have been rolled for that broken in feel, and the frets have been leveled, crowned, polished and dressed. It has also been given a complete pro setup including nut slot detail, proper intonation, string hight and neck releif adjustments. You will love the tone and playability of this bass. It has a very low action with no fret buzzing.

This bass has been one of my favorite main players for about a year now and really is a treat to play. Unfortunately, I have too many projects going right now and I can't keep them all. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Here is a teaser pick:

Notice there is a rosewood spacer between the body and neck. It was necessary as the neck heal is slimmer than the original which made the spacer necessary. It does not interfere with playability or tone and is rock solid.

I am asking $600 for this one. (Shipped to CONUS) for overseas/international shipping, please ask for a price quote. You can add a MONO M80 case for $150 or a generic padded gig bag for $75. Just ask.

Not interested in trades at this time.

Thanks for looking.

RobC.

Hey Denny, naw, just busy. Work has kept me from building too many basses, but I did complete a nice custom 5 string bass with a moses Graphite/fanned fret neck and a nice 35" scale CAR 5 string Jazz bass also with a Moses Graphite neck. I also have several new projects that are under construction;

1. 4 string tabacco burst 50's reissue P bass clone with Birdseye maple Roasted neck. I might make it a "road worn" clone
2. 5 string OLP MM 2H with Pre-EBMM preamp, 5 way switch and new pickups. (all Nordy stuff)
3. Red burst 4 string Jazz bass with Tesla pickups and BnB neck.
4. Black (goth style) 5 string OLP MM 2H with Nordy pre-EBMM style pre-amp.

The plan is to have all of these available for sale by the end of Jan. I wish I had the time to work on basses all day, but I have a full time job as well as a pretty busy gigging schedule.

Thanks for the bump guys.

BTW, Cody, I have a buyer for the CAR 5 string 35" scale Jazz bass you like, but if for some reason the deal falls through, I'll let you know. And thanks for the bump. I fixed the link to the pic.

Happy New Year all!!!

Cheers.

Let's get the new Year started off right.

How about a price drop so we can move this one to a new home?

How about $600 Shipped to CONUS?

BTW, the bass now has the original Fender Chrome "Dome" control knobs. I think they look better. Pics available upon request.

Thanks for looking and Happy New Year.

O.K. folks, here is a new pic I just took this morning with some new additions. Notice the OEM style chrome knobs and new chrome (hipshot) tug bar.

Just as an FYI, I played a gig with this bass this past weekend, and will be sad to see it go, but sadly, I must sell this bass in order to complete some other projects.

My loss is your gain.

Cheers.
