Up for sale (No trades - don't ask as I will ignore; I'm not looking for anything. In fact, I should sell more stuff that I'm not using.) is an all black '70s Fender Precision fretless with rosewood neck. I am not the original owner. I purchased this used while in Tokyo, Japan, a few years back (ironic, no? Go to Japan and pick up a USA bass, not a CIJ/MIJ).
Why am I selling? With the newer Rob Allen I got last year, I really don't need this one anymore. It's a shame to see it sitting here unused. Thinning the herd is just the natural order of things. I'd like to see this go to a good home.
The body (S/N 635524) is black with a black pickguard. The bass originally had a blonde fretless neck which I sold here in the classifieds. I replaced it with a '78 rosewood fretless neck that I liked better (S/N S885966). The new neck plays like butter and is only a few S/Ns off of my fretted '78 (one of the reasons I got it, actually).
Cosmetically, this is a players bass. Anything you see in the pics (link below) is the way I purchased it in Japan - including the treble clef (oh the humanity) symbol on the body. It's still in good condition, though - I am just 100% super honest about what it is you're getting. If you're looking for a NOS type bass, this isn't it.
All parts as far as I know are 100% stock. The only thing which may not be is the thumbrest. I made one change to the bass - the pickups. They are actually the original pickups but I had Fralin rewind them to the specification of a 60's P-bass. So looking at the bass you keep that 70s aesthetic, but it sounds killer. The pickups were professionally removed and re-installed by Jon Mouradian at Mouradian Guitars in Winchester, MA. I am not a DIY kind of guy.
When I decided to sell the bass recently, I had Jon set it up so it would be ready to play "out of the box" for whoever got it.
This ships with an Ibanez gig bag - the same one that came with it when I bought it in Japan.
17 pictures of the bass can be seen here

PayPal preferred. If you want to use some other method, you can ask. The only other thing I'd really take would be a money order, but PayPal is MUCH easier.
