For sale I have a modded fender precision bass. There has been a lot of replacements and mods so the price reflects it.
Started out as a 1975 precision bass. It used to be white but has been refinished black long long time ago. The black layer is very thin and is checking at the moment with lots of wear where you can see the original white underneath!!
What's original: the body, neck plate and washer, pickguard, and the bridge.
What's been replaced: the neck is replacement. Not 100% on the maker of neck but it's a pretty damn nice neck. Looks to be an older allparts neck. Plenty of room for adjustment on the neck and at the moment the neck is set pretty flat with very slight relief and medium action.
Electronics: passive bartolini pickups, passive controls. Wired volume/volume/tone. There is also and route for a jack on the side if you want to wire it up differently with a new pickguard. The pots are cts buy I am not sure if they are original they end with 66.
The original pickguard has a crack on the bottom screw. Typical for 70's p bass pickguards.
Replacement neck: maple maple neck. Has vintage reverse tuners. It's the fender versions with the dimpled back. Neck has not been drilled to fit it but the tuners are secure and work great. Truss is pretty flush with the heel and plenty of adjustment to go. Neck is very straight. Has 1.675" nut width? Not the 1.75 like the 50's lots of fret life.

To answer the most typical question: this bass weighs a ton! I'm not 100% accurate but on the bathroom scale it tips 10.1lbs

Bass will be shipped in a vintage fender style case. Not original but still nice case.

If you guys have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Yeah, I'm not criticizing your price (since that's against forum rules), but since you brought it up: I'd say your asking price would be about on par if it had the original neck...

I'll take offers and trades too. I'm not 100% on the value of this bass but if someone is gonna spend $1200 for a new fender, I figure why not spend that money on a nice vintage bass?
The last thing I want to do is bag on your price, a bass is worth whatever someone wants to pay you for it! Here's a little more feedback on market price in case you want it.

Another member recently offered me a professionally restored 62' P with a 67 neck in a trade for a run of the mill Stingray.... and his had more original parts than this one does. I knew his bass was worth a little more than what a Ray goes for used, but his outright sale price was about what youre asking.

That said, your bass has a TON of mojo. I like it alot. If I was in the market for it, I'd consider an offer on it!
