Folks,
I bought this from 13ftHand a while back, and it's an awesome bass....but I also bought an old dream amp of mine, so a bunch of basses have to go.
Here's his original description:
**********************************************
Made in Japan's Matsumoku production plant around 1984.
Serial #40915xx
Specifications, to the best of my knowledge:
body: alder (appears to be single-piece)
neck: replaceable, maple neck "Original Smooth Joint" "accurate bolt on system"
fingerboard: rosewood with 22 frets
scale: 33.86" (860mm) (long scale)
pickup: single "1 MB IV double-coil pickup" (passive)
controls: 1 vol, 1 tone
bridge/tailpiece: die-cast
tuning machines: die-cast machine heads
nut: "super narrow, bone" (the nut is black--doesn't look like bone to me)
hardware: chrome
finish: two-color sunburst, black / light gold stain
Weight: approx. 8 lbs
Condition is very good. Except for the rare occasions it was played, this bass has been stored in its ohsc in climate-controlled homes--never in garages, attics, basements, etc. which is why there's no corrosion on the chrome hardware.
Very few and slight, shallow nicks and dings. Frets are in great shape. E-string tuner seems a little stiffer than
the other three, but is completely operational. Truss rod works fine. Volume and Tone pots operate without
any scratching or pops.
Now setup with brand new D'Adarrio ENR71 half-rounds. .045 .065 .080 .100
Neck relief and string height set to Fender bass specs (from the Fender website) and does not buzz.
