Up for sale is a 1989 Peavey Dyna-Bass (USA) in near mint condition.
Great looking/playing/sounding bass with nice low action.
Super Ferrite pups
active pre with 3 band EQ
active/passive switch
34 inch scale
1.5 inch nut
8 inch radius
8.2 pounds on my bathroom scale
Would be mint except for a couple small bubbles in the paint near the pups (hard to photograph). Also, the nut has been cut for BEAD tuning, but works fine in EADG with a small shim. Currently tuned EADG with D'Addario XL-170s.
She's yours for $275 $260 shipped CONUS. I might be able to offer a plush-lined Peavey Contour Case for additional $.
PM with any Qs.
Photos are from previous owner. I can take more if requested, but bass is in the same condition.
Thanks for looking.

The typical reason -- to make space and funds for GAS. But I'm a bit reluctant on this one. I may come to my senses and pull this b/c it is a sweet bass for the money. |

This bass was built solid, light, great neck. Play like a $800 bass. Get one and you will believe me. I will never sell mine |

Will it still work in passive mode if the battery craps out?
When its in passive mode, is there any passive tone control or do you just have master volume and a pickup pan?

The preamped controls are T M B. Passive, the B knob acts as a treb/bass roll off. So, yes, you can control the tone in passive.
MY ONLY reason for selling is that I bought 2 USA Milleniums and needed to fund them. The mid-sweep is to die for.
The Dyna has been my go-to bass for yrs. WAY worth the asking price.
Hope this post helps.

At this point I need my asking price to let this one go. This is still a great value (IMO) at $275 shipped/insured. |

Thanks! |

Thanks! | If the OP doesn't mind, I'll chime in again ... Yes, Mid freq works like the Treble and Bass freq.
Whirledpeas, i know you are probably getting lowballed like crazy as I did. hold out bro, this is a SWEET bass in excellent condition as you know. I just wish all the peeps would realize how nice this bass is. The neck is small and FAST, not as flat as a Millennium. perfect IMO.
$275 is a great bargain, I just cannot stress that enough.... AND that's shipped also? WOW!
Someone's getting a sweet deal. I'd buy her back in a second, but Xmas is close and finances are killing me right now.

The bass and treble controls boost or cut around a fixed frequency. The mid on this preamp seems to change frequency depending on where it is set, but I really don't understand the ins-and-outs. Here is the manual. check out the section on the mid control. Very confusing. Can anyone clarify?

And Laurie's right, I'm waffling on this sale. Leaning towards keeping this bass right now, but who knows which way the wind will blow tomorrow.... |
