FS :: '92 Ibanez Soundgear SR885 ($200 Shipped Conus)

This is the second SR885 that I've listed, and if you've ever played one of these, you know that they've got a seriously fast playing neck. The spacing's adjustable on this one, and is currently set to be narrow at bridge (~16.5mm) and the neck profile is very slender; the nut spacing is very narrow on this one as well. These are Made in Japan, and feel like pro level basses.

The action on this one is set very low, and there will be new strings installed (D'Addario) before it sells. The pickups are the original Ibanez actives, but the preamp is not there, it's wired up quite simply as VVT with a switch (and LED - not shown in the current pics) to indicate when the pickups are on (and using the battery). I had it wired this way to preserve the battery life. The bass has tons of mojo, and has routes for different pickups (smith soapbars) which I am planning to cover with a nice ramp if this doesn't sell. I had intended to keep one of these, but I just came across another 5 that REALLY has me stirring.

The bass will be shipped in a brand new digital camo gator gig bag.

Feel free to make me any offer that you can think of.

Since others have asked... I would consider a trade for a fretless or any other very interesting piece. I will be willing to do a cash + trade for this too!

I also have a 1992 Soundgear 5-String with Padauk finish which has treated me well for 18 years.

My name is Bumpty, pronounced with a Umpty.
Yo ladies, oh how I like to bump thee.
And all the rappers in the top ten--please allow me to bump thee.
I'm steppin' tall, y'all,
and just like Bumpty Bumpty
you're gonna fall when the stereos bump me.
