*PRICE DROP* FS: 98 Special Edition Status/Trace Elliot T-Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Up for grabs is one of the prized and often very quite sought after Special Edition Status/Trace Elliot T-basses (I can't believe that I'm actually parting with both of my Statii basses at the same time as I have found them to be unmatched in overall build/quality and sound FS feeler: Status Empathy 4) but room needs to be made. There was a total run of 100 Special Edition basses which were handmade for Trace Elliot by Status in 1998 to celebrate Trace's 15th anniversary. The bass has a 34" maple bolt-on neck with graphite reinforcements, a 2-way truss rod, 24 frets + 0 fret on a rosewood fingerboard, with the maple part of the neck having a satin finish. The electronics are typical jazz bass, two J-bass "Hyperactive" pickups + dummy pickup under the pickguard as hum-cancellor and active 9v (quick-change battery compartment) pre-amp similar to the Retro models of Status with volume control for each, treble cut/boost, bass cut/boost, flat EQ switch. The bridge conists of 4 individual bridges adjustable in all directions. The bass ships in it's original Hiscox Liteflight case along with all original documentation including its C.O.A.
This bass is absolutely stunning in person!!!

Here's the specs...

Model.................. T-Bass 4 String -1998 Special Edition.
Body Wood........... Tulipwood.
Finish................... Polyester - Candy Apple Red.
Neck construction... 3 Piece Maple/Graphite Inserts.
Circuit................... Status Board-700.
Pickups.................. Vintage Alnico

'T' Bass Active Circut:
Bridge Pickup Volume
Neck Pickup Volume
Active Circut - Treble/Bass,Cut/Boost Contols
(Treble +/- 12 dB at 5KHz, Bass +/- 12 dB at 100 Hz).
True Active/Passive Switch.
The control layout is...
Neck Vol. Control
Bridge Vol. Control
Treble Cut/ Boost Control and
Bass Cut/ Boost

***Full Disclosure on any Bumps and or Bruises...***

When the bass was shipped to me via it's prior owner, F*DEX managed somehow to do something really unique via their shipping process (I always ship UPS) resulting in a paint chip to incur as well as a couple of small dinks on the very top of the headstock in a bass shipped in a Hiscox Liteflight (which is pretty remarkable in and of itself).

-The Bass also has two very fine lacquer scratches on the back...

-And lastly, there is a bit of wear mark/checking in the polyester finish on the very top of the fretboard-neck junction on the E-string side at the 5th fret marker.

-With all disclosures being made, (I never sell nor prefer to buy anything W/O), this bass is actually one in a million! (or more precisely it's one out of a hundred).

-The bass is for sale for $1500 boxed/shipped and fully insured. (Price now dropped down to $1375). Again, Paypal echeck is preferred but standard is fine and as always, I insist on personally packing all basses I sell/ship like a champ.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I do have the paint chip/s from the headstock if someone wanted to have a crack at gluing them back.

I've had two T-Basses. Grab this thing. You won't regret it.

When I was looking for a new rig, I kept taking my sonic blue T-Bass into the local shop that also sold Sadowsky, Lull, Suhr, etc. The owner literally asked me not to bring it back in because I was killing Sadowsky sales for him. I would be playing and guys were offering to buy it on the spot.

Killer basses.

Here's a clip of me pointlessly noodling on mine. Here is a clip of my bass with a drum track so you can hear it in that setting. Same woods and electronics, so this bass would sound exactly like mine. AGAIN, THIS IS MY BASS, NOT THE ONE FOR SALE HERE.

Buy this thing before I do. I've never had one in that color combo!!!

HOPE YOU DON'T MIND ME STEPPING IN ON YOUR THREAD.

Hijack away GrooveWarrior and nice playing! I think you really need a CAR T-bass to keep your sonic blue company.

I'm telling you, if people knew how seriously nice these basses were, this thing would be long gone. The slap tone is out of control on these things.

I can't guarantee it, but I don't see why not. The tuner and extender on my super J measure one and a half inches in diameter, which should just fit in on the T-Bass.

I own a Status Groove bass (Status's version of the Stingray) and it's AWESOME. The build quality, fret work, tone, etc are all amazing. Bump for a killer bass!
