Serial number is B5 0024 made in NYC when Jimmy's shop was on 9th Ave. It was ordered by Mike Visceglia (Suzanne Vega etc..) and I bought it from him a couple years ago.
I don't know what the current model specification would be, but it has an alder body with black nitro finish, maple neck with a nitro finish and an ebony fretless fingerboard with lines and mother-of-pearl dots.
It has an Aguilar 3 band preamp as ordered by Mike and the controls are:
Vol, Vol (pull passive), mid and a stacked treble and bass.
It is in very good condition with only some very very minor play wear and almost NO wear on the fingerboard. You can see that a string has vibrated against the wood but if you rub your finger on it, it almost disappears. The body has the usual checking of a nitro finish. The neck is amazing! There is a hole in the back of the body that you can see from the pictures where I think Jimmy was going to install a string ferrule to have the option of stringing the B string through the body. It was never installed though.
This is truly an amazing fretless as you can imagine...so why am I selling it? I recently became and Xotic endorser and just brought a new fretless 5 home from the NAMM show so I'm basically playing all Xotic basses exclusively as per my agreement with them. If not, I would not be letting this go... I'm selling a Sadowsky m5-24 for the same reason.
If you are an AC fan, or just in the market for one of the best fretless jazz basses you can come by, this is the bass.
Comes with a lightweight hard case similar to the Sadowsky cases..
I don't know the exact weight, but it's certainly not heavy and seems lighter than the current AC basses I played at NAMM.
$3300 shipped in the con US
If you are in the NYC area, please get in touch to check it out as I would prefer a local sale.
The pictures don't come up very big where I posted them so if you are really serious about this bass and want to see the full size pics, I can send them to you but they are very large files.
