FS: Alleva-Coppolo BK Signature 5 - Amazing!!
Up for grabs is a beautiful mint condition Alleva-Coppolo Booker King Signature 5 String. When it comes to AC's it doesn't get much better or more rare than this. This BK Signature model is only one of two in existence, the other being owned by Booker King himself.
  • Special Hand Selected Premium Ash Body
  • Special Hand Selected Premium Ash Neck
  • Maple Fingerboard
  • Trans Red Finish
  • Matching Trans Red Finish on Headstock and Neck
  • Hipshot Bridge
  • Hipshot "Lollipop" Tuners
  • 9.4 lbs - Excellent weight and balance
  • AC Electronics - vol,vol,tone,bass boost,treble boost & active/passive
  • Includes white pearloid pickguard (not yet installed)
  • Mint Condition
This is the exact bass featured on the AC Website under Signature Series 5 Strings: http://allevacoppolo.com/basses/signature/bk-signature/

The tone can best be described as articulate, resonant, punchy, clean, clear and fast. Think Italian sports cars...no wonder why the finish is trans red!!

New this bass would cost over $5K+ and with more than a 14 month wait

Asking $4000. - Shipped Fed Ex Ground Insured - Paypal OK - CONUS - LOWER 48 ONLY

Is the string tree crooked or is it the angle of this picture?

LOL! I think they're angled like that on purpose. My LG5 is the same.

PM's replied. Would also consider a trade + cash for a 5-string ash/maple Sadowsky, Nordy, Celinder or AC

Queries

It appears that the headstock stain is deeper red than body in photos ?

How common and desirable tone wise, is a painted ash neck on an AC ?

Ash is not a neck wood a lot of Fender style luthiers use is it ? How would you describe the tone please.

I tried to PM twice but technical problems hampered that.

Great looking bass for sure.
GOOD LUCK

I think you're right... I have another mfr's bass with a tree like that, and it has a similar tilt. I never noticed it before.

The photos are deceptive (think it has to do with the time of day the photos were taken and shadowing), the headstock stain is perfectly matching.

Although painted ash is not a 'common' wood used for the neck, I think Jimmy only used it a few times; maybe only for the two BK Signatures in existence?, it works amazingly well with this bass. The tone is clear and punchy, every note seems resonate and articulate. For me, and the reason I'm selling, is I realize I'm just not a painted and glossed neck guy - that's all. The bass kills in every way.

PM's seem to be working on my end...feel free to try again.
