Both of these basses are the original lower-priced-of-the-two basses. Ibanez have since refined this design a little.
The Natural is in great shape. It has a few scratches shown among the pix
The Black one I bought on Talkbass from an exceptionally unscrupulous seller. It arrived with the strings tuned way the hell tight, and the tuning knobs were kind of stiff. One of the knobs had been replaced as in this picture:
And when I contacted the seller he said in effect "Well, no I didn't mention that I had replaced it. But you should have seen the replacement peg in the small picture of the whole bass that I posted. And why should to pay for a new one? They're expensive!"
I also noticed that though the truss rod is adjusted right, this buyer had stripped the allen hole. In a word, he was a total Allen-hole.
Anyway though I paid $425 for this black bass, I'm throwing it in for no additional expense. Buy one get another free.
They both work, they both sound and play fine. They are actually truly great basses I'm just cleaning house and have committed to 6-string so I won't need these anymore.
