FS: Aria Pro II SB-900 (Excellent condition)

Hello. This is a re-list. I had this up several months back and after no serious inquiries decided I wanted to keep it. Well, I need the money for a holiday trip so....back up it goes!

This is a year 1980 Matsumoku MIJ Aria Pro II SB900 with all original hardware/electronics. I've owned this bass for 7 years (bought from Japan) but for the past 3 it's been sitting in its case. It's been played only in my home, never gigged out.

Cosmetically the bass is nearly flawless. There are 2 areas on the body with some chinks in the finish (which I've tried to capture with the pics), but nothing deep, no gouges or severe damage. The pickups themselves are pretty scratched but this does not affect the sound in any way. The fretboard is in great condition, while the frets show moderate wear. The brass bridge and nut are very clean, no rust. It was strung with DR Sunbeams earlier this year.

Specs:
5 ply maple/walnut Transmit neck, brass nut and bridge, rosewood fingerboard, 24 fret, ash body, 2 MB-1 double coil pickups, 2 volume, 2 tone, pickup sel switch, phase and coil cut switches.

Included is the hard shell case that came with it. The case has nicks and bangs in it and one of the three latches is broken. It still handles the instrument well and will protect it during shipping.

$800$775 PayPal'd and shipped/insured to the ConUs. OR $750$725 to avoid the PP fees and save a bit.

Questions are welcome. I'm not looking to do any trading at this time. Thank you for looking.

Nice!
I've played these and SB-1000s and I'd take one of these 10 times out of 10 over the 1000.

GLWTS! These are killer basses.

WOW! I have an '81 I recently acquired. INCREDIBLE Basses! (Different animal than the SB-1000, but I'll take it over the SB-Elite II)

'81 they went with 2 Stacked V/T controls. What are the controls on this one? V/V/T?

How much does it actually weigh?
I use my eBay/digital scale for such determinations.
I'm asking because I'm interested but have a Greco GOB-1200(their Alembic clone) that weighs a TON.

It looks to be coming in right around 11 1/2 lbs. Yeah, this one isn't light by any means, either!...but I've always thought that it was a tremendously balanced instrument.

It has been up for near a month and still here??? These are great basses, if I were in the market for another bass I'd jump on it. I have owned several over the years and these are some of the finest basses to come out of Japan, to come from anywhere!

Good luck, hope you sell it soon. I sold mine on ebay, for some reason they seem to go a lot faster there. As much as it pains me to say that (I hate ebay and Pay Pal) but that has been my experience.
