FS: Aria Sinsonido

So now that I have a Kala UBass as my travel bass, I'm passing on my Aria Sinsonido AS-690B travel bass.

Most of the info can be found on the Aria site, but for clarity, the "body" pieces are foam-wrapped metal (aluminum?) bars that are removable and store easily in the included travel bag. The whole item is designed to fit in an overhead bin on a plane. I've never flown with it, but I'm told that the airline is fine with the length because it takes up so little room in the compartment, but your experience may vary. It's been very convenient to take on car trips.

I've had it for two years, but used it only twice when I took it on two vacations (one to a cabin, one to a hotel), and noodled with it several times at home. Never played it out, always used indoors, always in smoke-free environments.

The sound is very clean and exact. I don't know if I'd like it as a full-time bass because of this sound (a bit too bright for my taste/style - I usually play flats, though haven't tried flats on this).

But as a practice bass (which is what I've used it for exclusively) it's wonderful. You hear every little thing, and the sound cuts through the mix - especially when I run it through my Apogee Jam & iPad while practicing playing over tunes. This baby is really designed for practicing with headphones, thus the built-in preamp, which is powerful enough to send really nice tone to my big Audio Technica headphones.

I did take it to a jam once at a friend's house, and put a EQ/DI pedal in front of it - got lots of looks and even more questions. Overall, it got a great reception. I always wanted to take it a blues jam while on vacation, but never had the opportunity.

These are very usable IMO. I agree a bit bright if left flat but easy to remedy that.
It's a bit strange getting used to no body and how light it is but playability and sound
are pro level. I've gigged mine a few times and had fun. I don't think I've ever had as many ?'s and comments as when I've played it. GLWTS.

I really like practicing with this... great for using with my headphones - no external amp/preamp needed.

I just need to thin the gear here, since I bought the UBass and a couple of other things.

Just reduced the price. If no bites this week, it's hitting eBay on Sunday. I just bought a UBass and a few more goodies, and I need the cashes.

Boy am I LAZY! I keep meaning to put this on eBay, but I keep getting distracted by other stuff.
