FS: Atkinson / MIJ Fender Jazz Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
The body is sold pending payment. Only the neck is left

I tried long and hard to become a Jazz bass guy after I bought this body from Dan Atkinson but I just can't escape being a P Bass guy. I bought this body used from Dan on here around Christmas time and I added am 89' Fender MIJ Jazz neck.

BODY: SOLD Pending Payment
This alder ALLPARTS body was done with a fantastic matte finish nitro sunburst paint job. I don't think I ever seen such a nice sunburst.

The pickups are Seymour Duncan Bassline SSB-4 Passive Soapbars. Really nice and balanced sound.

The control plate is loaded with all CTS pots and a Vitamin Q cap.

Gotoh 201 bridge.

NECK: SOLD
The neck is a 89" MIJ Fender Neck. Feels really nice and smooth. Someone in the past had refinished it at some point but it looks good.

This bass has a very thin nitro finish. I played it literally 3 or 4 times and my arm has already started to buff the matte finish on the edge of the arm contour. This thing will wear beautifully. Since the finish is so thin, this will dent easier than any poly finish.

There are two small dings on the arm contour and some small indents on the back along with some surfaces scratches that were there when I originally got it.

This bass plays fantastic and comes loaded with D'Addario Medium Rounds.

I am also willing to trade this for a POG 2 plus cash.

Will ship with a well worn hardshell case. $550 shipped CONUS firm.

How does it sound with the soapbars compared to a typical Jazz. Nice bass!

Warmer and fuller. They are also balanced. There isn't really a huge perceived freq. spike. I can play it fingerstyle or with a pick and sits perfectly in the mix with it. If I solo the bridge, I can get a good agressive growl or if I use more of the neck I can get p bass fatness.

Also, you're dealing with humbuckers so you don't get hum.

That's a really cool bass! Kudos for putting together something that's different from the same old Jazz Bass, but still looks classic too.

The credit goes to Dan Atkinson for creating the body that way. I just needed to add the jazz neck.

I'm hesitant to split the two. But if I did the body would go for $300 shipped
