I bought this from Hemitom here a couple of years ago and I really hate to let it go but G.A.S. has got it's damn claws in me.
This is a 1985 vintage Greco Ric 4001S clone from Japan. It's all maple construction and was professionally refinished in nitro by Fretter Guitars in Langley, BC when Tom had it. It has a Ric electrical harness with the push/pull tone control. It has a custom made neck pickup made by Sergio of Portugal from the Rickenbacker forum which has individual adjustable pole pieces and a chrome surround so it looks a little different than the one in the pics. (Very nice job by Sergio I might add.) I have the pickup that came in it which Tom told me was a Univox replacement. It was getting a little noisey which is why I replaced it. The bridge pickup is the original Greco which is nice and hot and looks like the real thing. Both pickups sounds great and are very close to the real thing. (I had one so I know.) The tuners and bridge were replaced with quality pieces and they still work perfectly. It has vintage Ric knobs and mono output. The neck is slim and straight and plays beautifully with nice low action. It's definitely more slender and playable than my 4003 was. The bass is well balanced and fairly light weight. It is still in very nice condition with only some light scratches on the back and some on the pickguard and a few others if you really look for them. It includes a set of Dunlop strap locks and a nice black hardshell case with white piping which looks fairly true to the Ric cases of the early era. I need to get $750 and will work with you on the shipping which is to the Con US only. Paypal only please.
Toms pics. (He has more photography talent than me.) Thanks Tom!
