FS Bee Bass Queen, neck through 6 string fretted

Sign in to disble this ad
I've got a great Bee bass, Queen model, neck through, 6 string fretted for sale. 2006 build, excellent condition, custom made for me by Fred Bolton. I'm an endorsed artist and am featured on the Bee bass web site for reference. I've attached a pic and some audio. Audio is not great but gives an idea. I rolled off half the highs and mids on the bass. I also was using crappy Elixir strings when I made this recording years ago. No longer!! It can sound much brighter if you want it too. Here are the specs. Price $2,300 plus shipping.

-- Butternut body -- from the walnut family.
-- Bubinga top and headstock
-- maple neck with rosewood fingerboard (acrylized) makes it tough
and has a snappier sound. It's a gorgeous piece of thick
rosewood that's been impregnated with acrylic.
--- 34" scale neck with reinforced graphite
-- Hipshot bridge and tuners
-- Delano SBC5 HE/S, soapbar pickups
-- Bee preamp
-- 3 way midrange selector, toggle switch (can be seen in pics at the bottom, not seen in this pic)
-- Dual, truss rod adjustor
-- 24 fret, 2 octave neck
I can take closer pics if anyone is interested. I'd also be willing to trade for an MTD 635-24 with Mahogany body and rosewood, ebony or pao ferro board.
thanks

They are different. The avatar is my fretless Worker Bee. Bolt on neck. I'm selling my Queen fretted which has a neck-through neck.

Wow, what a beautiful bass. On my list of "some day" basses! What is the string spacing on this bass?

Good call. Some of the pics were taken before the toggle switch was installed by the manufacturer and some pics where taken after the installation. I shipped the bass back to Fred and he personally installed it.
Go to the last set of pics. The switch is located between the bridge and pots.

Measuring it myself, it's 18mm. Asking Fred would be best.

Thanks Shovelbone. Back at ya with love brother. This is such a ridiculously low price for a Queen Bee with extra added on features like the toggle, i'm shocked no one has grabbed it. It's in superb condition. I won't lower the price on it. I'll be happy keeping it if I have to but I think someone will wise up.

The F bass is gone along with a few others. I've held pretty steady though to the same basses for the last 2 years.

I fixed the wording to more accurately describe the location of the toggle switch. :-) Thanks. Reading it again, I realize it sounded as though the switch was imbedded in the wood, under the bridge! :-)

The price ain't movin' fellas so don't hold your breath. There's no urgency for me to move this puppy. I'll keep it or wait. This instrument will rival any top end 6 string on the market! Killer B string for a 34" scale. $2,300 is a GREAT deal.
