Up for sale is my Bee Bass WorkerBee 5.
This WorkerBee is one of the earlier ones. It's serial number is 00015 and was made in 2002.
It's a five string bass with an alder core and mahogany top and back, twenty eight fret, 34" scale, 3 piece maple neck with graphite stiffeners and an acrylicized ebony board, single Delano pickup and three band Bee preamp.
At one point in its life, the truss rod stripped. The bass was sent back to Bee where they built and installed a new neck (the original did not have the graphite stiffeners and the acrylicized ebony board) and upgraded the electronics with the latest Delano pickup and Bee preamp. Both upgrades improved the tone of the instrument and brought this WorkerBee up to current standards.
This bass plays very easy. Access to all the frets is amazing (especially considering it has a 28 fret neck).
The sound is truly unique. It is very articulate but is still able to cut thru the mix at the same time. I believe this has to do with the combination of woods and electronics; it's a very unique combination.
I'd put the condition at around an 8 out of 10. There is some minimal worming on the back. There is a depression where somebody bumped the headstock. And, someone moved the strap button from the back to the edge and left the hole.
The bass will be sold with a generic gig bag.
My price for the bass is $1,400 which includes shipping.
