FS : Benavente Vortex 5

I just picked this up about a week ago here on TB but I'm going to sell it because I have to admit that I'm a better player on 4 string basses (Especially slapping and popping). The condition I would say is a 9/10. There are only a few dings that are hard to see unless pointed out. I am not 100% sure of all the specs but will do my best to cover them all.

- Black Korina Body
- Redwood Burl top with matching headstock
- Quarter sawn 5 piece maple neck
- Macassar Ebony fretboard
- Benavente Pre
- Active electronics (vol/vol bass/mid/treble) Bass is boost only, treble and mid are normal
- Pull knob for Passive electronics
- 2 Benavente Wide pickups
- hipshot bridge (black)
- Black hardware

According to my measurements, the string spacing is 19mm at the bridge and 10mm at the nut.

Those are the specs as far as I can tell and remember.

The previous owner took the bass to his bass tech for a set up and new strings before he shipped it to me.

The Lowend website has a bass like this listed around $2700.
Here is the original listing from The Low End. www.LowEndBassShop.com :: View topic - Vortex 5 Lace Redwood

Instead of shipping the bass in the worn out Warwick rock bag that the bass came in I am sending it in a brand new $100 form fit SKB hardshell case that I bought for the bass.

$1700.00 Shipped CONUS. Paypal , Postal Money order , or Bank Checks only.

If you don't need the hardshell case I can sell it $1625 in the soft Warrick Rock Bag that it came in.

Thanks for looking.

Can you post the neck width at the nut and the 12th fret? Also, how is the action, frets (especially North of the 15th fret a.k.a buzz zone) and is the neck consistently straight or are there any bows?

Thanks

Dnag! I wish I had the cash or a bass to trade. I'd love to have this one back. It's a great bass, and a killer deal!

Hi iualum. Thanks for the compliment on the Vortex 5!

A lot of great trade offers , but I'm really looking to re-coup some cash. I guess if there was a trade offer that I just couln't pass up I'd do it. Thanks to everyone who showed interest so far.

Scale and spacing at bridge? Also neck dive, weight, and does treble cut work in passive mode?

Sorry for all the questions!

I bought a Skjold from Pedulla-Player and it was a flawless transaction. Craig is a great guy to deal with. And you won't find a better bass at this price. I owned it for a while, loved it, but traded it in a fit of GAS. Wish I could buy it back!

Ditto what Freddy-G said. Wish I had cash or trade stuff in-hand, 'cause I'd take it back in a minute. I loved it!

This is the pic that really shows you the beauty of the Redwood Burl and Black Korina body. And just to confirm, yes the bridge and tuners are Hipshot. And here you can also see the Dunlop strap lock button.

Notice the brass nut. Nice touch.

Hmmm.... just noticed the purple silk wraps on the strings, too. I can't remember if I had Ken Smith or Zon strings on it when this photo was taken.
