Bump for one of my dream basses that is way out of my $$ league right now.

Is this all original?
I can't make any promises, but I am seriously saving for this. A very serious 'hope to get it soon' bump! |

I'm the original owner and worked with John DiMaggio from Bass Alone to have it built by Jamie White/Bone Basses. The led's were put in by Sims Custom in England. So it went from San Diego to England then to me in Ohio.
Interesting tidbit. When the bass was first built, the bass strings and octaves were reversed, ie, the treble strings were closest to the cutaway. I found it very difficult to fret that way and sent it back to have Jamie switch things around.
Someone is going to get a true one-of-a-kind bass!! |

I've seen many examples of Jamie's work, and I was confused why a bass of this caliber had such a poor headstock layout with some of the octave strings touching the tuning posts of the bass strings. When that conversion was done, where the bass tuner holes simply plugged and the octave tuner holes enlarged? Or, was the purpleheart faceplate removed and the whole headstock redone?
I ask, because I'm primarily a finger-style player and I always wanted an octave bass w/ the bass strings above the octave strings (opposite of standard). Basically, what would it take to make it the other way again? (New nut, plugging and enlarging tuner holes, etc....??)
Thanks

Dan | It's not tough to play as it is now, but not knowing how the original layout was done I am not sure either. |

I bought my Modulus Quantum 6 from John Dimaggio when he used to have Bass Alone. Now he works for Taylor Guitars.
If I had the money I would definitely spring for this 12 string wonder, but alas I live in the real world.
