I love this bass. There, I said it!
Neck = perfection. Balance = perfection. Fretwork = perfection. 19mm spacing = awesome.

However, I'm just needing a different sound. I'd love to have the J/MM version of this bass, but nobody sells them once they get them. These basses will accommodate just about any pickup configuration you can imagine inside, but pickguards are almost impossible to get unless you get one of Kevin Brubaker's custom guards for $250.

So, I'm going to see if this garners any interest so I can just buy a bass with a MM pickup at the bridge. I don't have a problem at all just keeping this bass and trying different Jazz pickups, so the price is not negotiable.

Plus, the price I have on this bass is VERY fair. Consider the upgrades, all purchased brand new:
Bartolini CBJS pickups ($150)
EMG BTS Preamp ($110)
Gotoh GB7 Tuners ($60-ish)
Knobs & Straplocks ($25-ish)

$650 is the price. I will ship it to the east coast at that price. If you're on the west coast, let's talk first. Will ship in a super nice G&L Gigbag.

Weight = 9 lbs, 8 oz.

Bass is in great condition. Don't expect mint by any means, but it's super nice. There is a blem on the top, right around the forearm rest. Looks like it maybe banged a wall or something and cracked the finish. There is also a scrape on the B string saddle that I did with a drill while installing the ferrule for the B string (yeah the B string can be strung through body OR through bridge. The rest are bridge only, ala Mike Lull!)

Controls again are from the EMG BTS Preamp:
Volume/Volume, Bass, Treble, Mid w/concentric mid sweep control.

Brutes are all about the necks. 34" scale, and the fretwork is impeccable. Kevin does the work on these in his shop. The ends are filed down and filled with putty, much like Music Man does. The neck is wide & flat, feels great, plays awesome.

The sound. I would call this bass a smooth jazz sound with tons of burp. Not really aggressive or in your face. Nice, smooth, dynamic..it sounds great. I just want that in your face, modern humbucker sound. If you do too, don't buy this bass!

I'm out of the running, but here's a bump for a really cool bass!

I've come to my senses. I'm keeping this bass!

No longer for sale.
