I have a four-string Brute with the same upgrades in the pups and pre. I'm using TI flats on mine, and I can say that those strings with those pups on that bass really sing. The coil-tap switch is a useful option; thickens it up for bridge solo or clears it up for mixing with the neck pup for slap. I bypass the NTMB and run passive 9 times out of 10 because it sounds so good that way.

That sounds sweet! This bass definitely kills in passive mode too

That's a very good price considering upgrades and shippng too. If I didn't already have a MJX5 I would be having this bass. I'm consdiering the very same upgrade.
