PRICE DROP to $1250.00
Up for sale is a great bass I picked up a couple weeks ago from Lou (swell guy) as an experiment regarding the 17mm string spacing. I've always wanted to get my hands on a Brubaker from what other owners have told me and I'm here to say...
It's all true. Slap tone for DAYS!!!
When set to the bridge pickup with "slap" knob pulled out, this monster snaps and pops like it's loaded with gun powder. Dial her back and nice finger tone as well.
But...the most narrow spacing I play is 18.3 mm and it looks like there wont be going any tighter than that for me. Plain...doggone...shame. Never played a bass at any price that punches like this one.
Here's the link to Lou's sale thread... FS: Brubaker Lexa 5 (prototype)
For a little more info the fingerboard is definitely Wenge, Basslines as previously advertised with the Seymour Duncan pre-amp. I love the body-through bridge, truss rod is fully functional and works like a truss rod should.
I don't know exactly how old she is but has been played quite a bit as evidenced by the light fretwear (plenty of life left before refret) and a few road dings as a well loved, well played go-to axe should have.
I cleaned and oiled down the fingerboard..restrung with brand new stainless D'Addarios.
$1250.00 shipped anywhere in Con US with beat up HSC.
ONLY Trade thinkable would be 6-string Roscoe
