FS: Carvin AC40F Fretless semi-acoustic bass [ sound clips ]

Up for sale is a Carvin AC40F Fretless bass in very good condition. Purchased here recently on TB. I have never ending gas so I keep buying and trying. The rule is that it must be a bass I will play out so this bass went up against my Turner and Roscoe fretless basses [ see pic below ].

This is actually a Great bass!! Sounds very good and is very easy to play. Excellent cosmetic condition. A few minor checks in the finish only. The bass is actually a little more greenish that shows up in the pics.

To back up my claims of it sounding good, I have included clips. Please keep in mind that these were recorded on my iphone with no editing or effects.
Poor intonation is included at no extra charge

$550.00 shipped paypal lower 48 which is what I paid. Comes with a gig bag. ONLY trade I would be interested in is a Lakland 44-02 rosewood fretted fingerboard.

I really like the bass actually and played it a lot. However, after playing for 40 years, I know fairly quickly if a bass is going to fit in my playing style. Between my Turner and my modified Rosco, it will take something special. I will buy and try a Godin fretless 4 WITH the mag pickup if one comes up for sale used. Gas is relentless !

That Carvin has a really nice acoustic sound. I really dig the grit in the tone. Bravo, Sir.

How well does the preamp function?

Thanks for the sound clips. It sounds a lot more electric than i would have assumed. I guess it's not a surprise, given the overall body design. I'm guessing with that small hard body it doesn't have much of a a true "acoustic" sound when it's unplugged, right?

The preamp functions fine but I find it best to keep both tone knobs on low settings and use the amp more for eq. This helps get the best peizo sound.

It has a decent acoustic sound but it is not a stand alone sound as in keeping up with a guitar etc.
