NO LONGER FOR SALE: Carvin LB75 Koa Wood w/replaced electronics-NO LONGER FOR SALE

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey there... I am selling my old reliable 1993 Carvin LB75(Hawaiian Koa Wood with Tung oil finish) . I did replace the electronics with the Bartolini 5 STRING J STYLE PICKUPS and the Aguilar OBP-3 (3 Band) Onboard Preamp (2 Pickup - 4 knob / 1 switch Configuration)...all purchased from Best Bass...and sounds really warm or modern if desired. The electronics change alone was well over $300. There is a lot of normal 16 year wear on the bass around the usual areas. The bass has great low action....frets are still fine...had a set up done about a month ago with NYC Luthier Manny Salvador. Here are the stats from the Carvin Museum Site:
http://www.carvinmuseum.com/decade/images/93-lb75.html

NO LONGER FOR SALE

A couple of pics from recent gigs with her...the bass that is...LOL!!! I am actually selling the bass to contribute to a new Carvin Fretless I am saving up for ...I was going to have the frets pulled but rather not chance it.

Free bump for a heck of a deal. Carvin build quality is top notch and I'm sure the upgrades make this a killer bass!

Thanks for the bump...hey....I may be interested in trading for a Carvin LB75 lined fretless....

Plus if you are handy, sand the worn spots (and lightly sand the rest of the bass)...fresh coats of Tung oil and she be lookin good as new......

I'm seriously interested.

* Can you post some better photos of the bass?
* Specifically photos of any major wear/dents/dings.
* Specifically photos of the new hardware installation would be great so I can see how well the job was done.
* Any case included?

Case is included....I don't have a camera but the main major wear is above and around the neck pick up....from years of diggin in there...I never refinished because i liked the worn look, like I said it can be refinished fairly easily....there are normal scratches and a small ding or two for a 16 year old bass...this bass NEVER let me down, many gigs played on her and people noticed and really dug the tone...plus I did care for her quite well though..... the new pick ups were installed by a NYC luthier who has been doing this for 30 years!!!!!

I may be able to get some pics out this weekend.

Wow, thats a beauty. My LB-75 is a year older, also in koa but mine has the maple neck.
Does yours have an all-koa neck?

Looks like yours has the Sperzel tuners, I wish they still used those-makes restringing a breeze!

Taking of Market-NO LONGER FOR SALE!!!!!!!!

I have decided to keep this bass. Since no one jumped at buying her, I am keeping her. In all honesty...$430 was a gift...so I am keeping the gift. Thank you to all who had interest.
