SOLD!

I really love this bass, but tough financial times are forcing me to part with it. This is a Carvin LB76A from 1997-1998 (not exactly sure of age). It has the H50N hum-cancelling pickups and a 3 band EQ, alder body, maple/mahogany neck-thru body, ebony fretboard, and quilted maple wings. This bass has almost no signs of any wear and tear. I bought it recently and it looks like the previous owner(s) never played it. Even the gold hardware is looking good for it's age. I have gigged with it once and it sounds great live...very smooth and punchy. At home, the B string is not quite as loud as the other strings (seems like its the pickups, because the string itself is very taut for a 34" B-string), but it wasn't as pronounced at a gig. I have it set up with a fresh set of DR Lo-Riders (30-130), tuned down 1/2 step(Bb-Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-B). The neck was pretty bowed when I got it (yet another sign that it wasn't played much), but it took a setup beautifully and the action is now actually pretty low. Weight on the digital bathroom scale (weigh myself with bass, weigh myself without bass, subtract) is 9.0 lbs. even...lighter than my 4-string P-bass. Comes with OHSC.

I am asking $625 shipped OBO. Paypal OK. NO TRADES, I need cash or I wouldn't be selling this. This bass would cost over $1700 from Carvin if you built it today, and I wouldn't scoff at it. It's a beautiful looking, and very well-built, bass.

Tight. I've owned an Ibanez 5er recently that was 16.5mm and this doesn't feel quite THAT tight. But, it definitely isn't 17.5mm, so I will guess that its 17mm. It's actually pretty comfortable, the tight spacing keeps the neck at a reasonable size for someone who is used to 4 and 5 string necks. I can definitely slap comfortably, but I didn't slap on this bass very often...not really what I bought it for.
