FS: Gorgeous Conklin Groove Tools Bill Dickins neck through model in a dark wine finish, with Ash body wings and a flame maple top.
Many of the Wine versions look purple or pinkish. This one is a REALLY DARK wine color. These photos were taken in direct sunlight to capture the wood grain.
I purchased this bass several years ago from a regularly gigging Memphis bass player. I've played it on 50+ gigs over the past two years. I'm playing more upright now and it needs a good home.
The bass in in excellent overall condition, but it has been well used and the gold finish on the tuners and bridge do show wear - they're more silver than gold... Also, the front of the bass has some fingernail scratches at the end of the fingerboard on the G and D strings, as the previous owner was more of a slap and pop player than I am. The scratches are only surface scratches and are only visible in the best of light and only at the right angle.
Currently strung with Rotosound flatwounds with a plain .018 steel Conklin string. Included in the sale is the Conklin soft/hard case, a spare set of unused SIT Snakeskins and a used spare set, with three new extra .022 wound high F strings and a new unused spare set of Rotosound Flatwounds, with at least one extra .018 plain steel string - more if I can find the others, and the gold strap locks for your strap.
As always, PM me with any questions and thanks for looking.
Best regards,
John
