FS: COOL Oakland ZXB200 Bass. Neck Thru 80's Japan

This bass is kind of a rare bird. I haven't been able to find much info on these. I do know it was made in Japan in the 80's.

It has 2 DiMarzio P-bass pickups in it, an active preamp, balanced and 1/4" outputs, phase switch, series/parallel switch for each pickup, pickup selector, 5 way tone selector, master volume, preamp volume, master tone pots. The best way I can describe the controls is just like the late 70's BC Rich basses. It is a full 34" scale.

The bass comes with the original hardshell case. The build quality on this bass is excellent. The frets are in great shape, truss rod works well, all the electronics work fine and the action is nice and low. The balanced output allows you to run directly into a mixing board.

The bass is a bit on the heavy side, about 9.5 to 10 pounds, but doesn't feel that heavy when wearing it with a wide strap.

$700.00 or best reasonable offer.

I'm not sure. I got it from someone here in a trade.

The bass is very cool and sounds and plays excellent. It's built like a tank and is in very good shape for its age.

I don't get it. Oh wait, maybe I do. You're saying that you would trade a Ric for the Oakland and a SR5? Unfortunately, I don't have a SR5.

I do have a 1977 Sunburst Fender Precision that I was thinking of putting up on the block also.

Might be interested in trades. Run something by me. Basses only, unless you have a Japanese Ibanez Jem.

Kinda looks like a cross between a pedulla and an alembic.

BMC...OUT!
