Smile FS: Cort B2A Premier Headless- ACTIVE Steinberger Licensed

For sale is my Cort B2A Headless bass in great condition.

This is the active version, part of what they called the "Performer Series". It actually hurts to sell this, as I always wanted one and had been looking for a long time and finding this was awesome.

Before purchasing this one, I found other cheap passive ones, and there is no comparison. It's really cool.

That said, family issues and the need for some $$ has me here. I bought this from great TB'er RogerBMiller and I am using much of his original and detailed description below. He says it perfectly.

This bass is the sister to the Hohner B2A which many including myself regard as the best Steinberger made. There are a couple of key differences here that make the Cort B2A unique and in my opinion a cooler bass:

- The Cort B2A has a slightly curved body which obviates the need for the folding leg-rest featured in the standard Steinberger "cricket bat" or "canoe oar" design.

-Pickups are EMG select P/J configuration for more tonal variety and traditional sound when needed.

This bass also features the killer pre-amp present in the Hohner B2A and other active Hohners. There is a stacked knob for treble and bass boost, a passive/active switch, there is an LED light indicating when the bass is in active mode, and in the back of the bass, there is a trim bot to control the pre-amp level. This this has PRESENCE!

This bass is in very clean condition, which is rare, as these Corts were considered cheap knockoffs back in the day and the ones you see now are really beaten up. This one has no nicks or dents.. A few smudges and glare from the lights and camera..

Everything works, strings are new, recently set up and ready to go.

I addition, I was able to procure a hardshell case for this and it is obviously included in the sale. The case is brand new.

$335 shipping included Shipping ConUS - I will ship double boxed, in the case - RogerB taught me well. I am taking a slight loss, but ah - I know some buyer on TB will take care of it.

Thanks!
DB

Are you ok with helping with the shipping charge? Conus is roughly $35. I would imagine Int'l would be a bit more...

Generally I would be fine with it as long as you are. I would obviously want to insure, etc to benefit us both!

Hi. Do you have any photos of the nut/'headstock' area of the bass? Thanks...

I have the Hohner version of this bass. This one should be a lot of fun for someone. Great price. Someone buy it.

Free bump.

My apologies - I didn't take one..

This has just sold - I appreciate the interest.. And at least I know I need to take more pics next time.

James - I, as well as the bass reside in Eastern PA....

I was able to just sell - thank God.. The mortgage wiped me out.

Yaay, now we can eat.

Seriously, thanks for the interest.

Take care!
