I built this bass in 2005 and unfortunately it's time for it to go. Served me well - but I am downsizing and with the return of my refretted G&L - only one can remain.

SO - here are the specs

Quartersawn USACG Maple neck - finished in satin Nitro and hand sanded to 2000 grit - feels like a pool cue. 6150 nickle silver frets truss access at the headstock. has a hipshot 3 string retainer and a TUSQ nut. Has some discoloration due to use on the back and fretboard shoulder. 1.625" nut width. This neck imparts a big clear low mid - you can hear it just playing un plugged - my GL in comparison sounds - well - a bit nasal.

Black Alder Warmoth PJ body - light rash on back and one nick at the upper horn near the recessed strap pin (I'll provide dunlop locks so you can outfit your strap). Electrosock jack, off white pickguard that also has seen some use. MXR and Boss pedal style Knobs - I thought these looked fun. Also PLEASE NOTE - this body has one of the TIGHTEST neck pockets i've ever seen. You can literally remove the screws and shake the bass - the joint will not budge. This is great impacts the big fundamental sound of the bass.

Bill Lawrence PJ set. These pickups have been getting a little buzz lately. They sound fantastic - a full bandwidth pickup without any hype. But I can get classic vintage sounds as well. missing 4 mounting screws (out of 8) make sure you have pickup mounting screws - as I do not to replace them. V, V, T setup.

All Hipshot Hardware - Vintage bent plate top loading bridge, Ultralite tuners with a little speckling on the tuner, and 3 string retainer.

Comes with a brand new set of Chromes in the Custom Light Gauge - my favorite.

Comes with a Hardshell Case - PLEASE NOTE this case smells smoky and funky. I'm basically using it for transport and I'll wrap the bass completely in plastic bags to prevent ANY scent from transferring. I got the case with my G&L - and only AFTER 8 months in a saw dust filled repair shop - did the G&L loose the smell - it was in a gig bag though so the case did not benefit. You may choose to throw it away if you like - but it's a nice G&G style case. I'm simply adding it as transport - it has NO value to me and is not assessed in the final price.

Possible trades: You can run trade ideas by me - but I'm pretty much set for Basses and Amps. Perhaps a pedal or two. I'm really looking for a FoxRox Octron - so I'll definitely entertain a trade for that. Also I'm a recording engineer so I'm always looking for rack mount mic pres, decent Mics (think SM7 dynamics or AT condensers), a good studio limiter would be nice. Also looking for pedal power supplies.
A Fender Baritone Jaguar or USACG Baritone Conversion neck

big trade for a vintage or even reissue or even a kit build Fender Tube Reverb Unit

$525+shipping in CONUS

***this price is roughtly HALF the price of components to build from 4 years ago - so I think the price is more than fair

This has nothing to do with the bass but if you want to remove the smell from the case get some boxes of baking soda and just cover the entire inside with the baking soda. Close the case for a couple of days, open and vacuum out the baking soda, then repeat.
I did this with a Tobias I bought once which was smokey and musty and just stunk like a skunk. After about five or six doses of baking soda it got the smell out.

So here is the baking soda bump.

Trade for a Mesa SUS-4 rack? I believe it's a 12U.

Unfortunately I do not have the black guard anymore. however it should not be difficult yo source one in good condition used for a great price. Then you get the looks for both.

I've moved to an Ampeg head so I'll not be needing a shockmount rack.

I tried baking soda, but it seems like saw dust works better. I'll pack the bass air tight so it doesn't get tainted by the case. Or I can ship in a gig bag too. Your choice though d prefer the protection of q hard case for shipping. Regardless of the condtions of such a case.

Keep the trade offers coming though. Someone may hit on something. And of course. Cash (paypal in this case) is king.

I've returned all PMs

no deals yet.

I'm really not looking for Basses or Amps since i'm pretty satisfied in both categories. Hence the auction.

i am DEFINITELY looking for an non-digital Octave pedal, as I need to replace a broken Octabass. Top of the heap would be a FoxRox Octron - OR a Mutron octivider (or a clone of one )

I'm also looking for an Outboard Fender Reverb Unit

other than that - feel free to try any studio gear (I'm looking for a good clean mic pre with about 60 to 70db of CLEAN headroom and a decent line level compressor or limiter)

I'm really trying to downsize though so I cannot guarantee any deals other than for an Octron or a Fender Reverb Unit
