Too many basses so time to trim my collections so I am selling my Fender American Standard J-Bass with Fender Custom Shop 60's pickups and Modulus VJ neck. The body is 1995 Fender American Jazz bass with Modulus Genesis VJ neck. Great pizz tone but really this is a slapping machine. Also has Hipshot ultra-lite tuners (with drop-D extension tuner). The body has a few small dings and scratches but still looks great. The neck is in excellent condition, no dent or ding. This is a great neck, straight. Bass weights about 9.5 lbs, nut width is 1.5". Everything works great. Great sounding bass, punchy. I am asking $625 shipped (firm price). No bag, but I will pack it well. Paypal is fine. NO TRADE as I need $. I can ship worldwide if you can pay actual cost of shipping.

I gotta say I'm intrigued. How is this neck different from other necks with graphite inserts?

What is the fingerboard? Chechen? Rosewood? Granadillo?

This neck is stronger than the best Fender USA neck. It has the rosewood fretboard

It's rosewood. It's off of the GVJ line. Believe it or not, a replacement neck from Modulus actually costs more than this entire bass.

I read somewhere online that those Genesis boards are either chechen, granadillo, or maple. But I think granadillo is just a type of rosewood. Not as dark as Indian rosewood, maybe.

For someone wanting the stability of graphite with the feel of wood, this would be hard to pass up.
