Up for grabs is this gorgeous custom bass with a Warmoth black korina body (has a black korina top) and Allparts Japan neck. This is not an Atkinson bass, although I would be proud to put my name on it. I received this as a trade-in from a customer who decided he wanted something vintage.
He built this bass about a year ago and did a fantastic job. However, I saw some room for improvement. I replaced the Bartolini pickups with Nordstrand Dual-Coils for a slightly more articulate tone, I stripped the rattle-can nitro finish and applied a hand-rubbed tung oil finish, and I did a thorough shielding job using copper tape.
This beauty features an Aguilar OBP-2 preamp with one 9V battery. The controls are blend, volume, bass, treble. The tone is simply thunderous.
The neck is an AllParts maple + rosewood, Jazz bass specs. It's in fantastic shape. No fret wear. Tuners are Hipshot Ultralites. 10" radius, and 1.5" nut.
Total weight is 8.3 pounds.
I'm only asking $675 shipped in the lower 48 states. Believe me, it plays and sounds like it should cost 3 times that. You won't be disappointed.
