FS: Danelectro Hodad Bass, EC!

Folks,

It's time to thin the herd once again, up for grabs is my trusty Dano Hodad Bass! They don't make these anymore, I think it's the best bass the new Danelectro made.
3 Lipstick pickups, stacked vol/tone/ "Select-o-matic" switch for every possible pickup combination, plus a toggle for all on. Very light, right around 7 pounds, 34" scale, black sparkle. In excellent plus condition, some swirling on the face from my fingers. Includes a Danelectro gig bag, which is actually much more plush than some Fender bags!
Plays like a dream, super fast, super bright & punchy.

Asking $350 shipped. I also have a blue sparkle Hodad six string that I'm selling, I'll put that on the "other" page.

Do you have or know of any soundclips for this? I'd love to hear it. How similar does it sound to the Lakland Scheffs?

I don't have any soundclips for this, I'm not too technically advanced! And I have no idea what the Lakland Scheff's sound like, so I can't comment on that.
It's a very "bright" sound, I pretty much always use it with all three pickups engaged. I've become mostly a G&L player now, but I've played this at gigs that I would normally bring an SB2 to, it's quite present....

Yes, very up front sound. I own a Danelctro long scale DC and played a Hodad in the store for over an hour through a good amp. I should have bought it because they're hard to find now. Nice and light, great neck and with T.I flats like I use on the DC, it's great for old rock and a nice alternative to my P bass. If I lived in the USA I'd probably buy this one. But with the fact it's made in the Orient, I'd get killed by import duties. Too bad for me. Good luck with the sale.
