FS - Dearmond Starfire with Darkstars

Sign in to disble this ad
Need to raise some cash and I'm selling my Dearmond (Korean) Starfire with Darkstars and Bayou Cables wiring harness and a hard case and gig bag

It looks as pretty as the pics show, and it sounds as awesome as you'd imagine. There's some light finish checking near the input, but that's the only flaw in the finish I can find.

I had it wired a bit differently than stock. The pickup selector still functions as it normally would, but I have it run to a master tone and master volume. The other pots and knobs are still there as the pics show, but just not currently wired. An easy enough thing to do if you'd like. It's strung with new D'Addarrio half wounds (rounds that are ground to feel like flats) and an older set of black tapes that I had on for awhile are also included. I have it set it with medium-low action. I had the bass gone over professionally and spent some $ having all the frets gone over and leveled. It plays fantastic with no dead spots, buzzes or rattles.

The original pickups and wiring harness are also included.

Justin Kennedy (http://www.jkennedyguitars.com/) did the DarkStar install and the most recent setup and Neil Harrell (http://www.google.com/profiles/NeilH...StringHospital) did the fret work.

$900 includes shipping stateside and payment via PayPal

Sorry, no trades, I need the cash.

Thanks!

I have the same bass in black with the original USA Gold pick ups. By far my favorite bass to play. Can't even imagine it with ds thumpers.

Fun fun fun bass to play!!!!

yeah, i didn't really mind the original dearmond pickups, tho' they did have low output but they had a cool sound. but the darkstars really made the bass come alive. if i were to keep it, i think i'd put the black tapes back on. if someone really wanted to, they could reinstall the originals easily. just a couple additional hole were needed to be drilled for the darkstars but they would be covered by the original pickup surrounds.

It looks like the strings aren't aligned over the poles.
Is that a DS thing? Or am I just seeing things?

it's just the angle of the pic. sorry, i was just trying not to get my ugly mug in the reflection :-)

i've owned about 4-5 ds'ed basses now and pole/string alignment has always been perfect.

btw - this bass is being held with a deposit...
