This is a 1995 Tobias Growler that was defretted (fret slots were filled with a medium-dark wood). This bass was heavily gigged for about 10 years, which is why I am listing it at $220 shipped. Has no problems other than the aesthetic wear, although that wear is heavy in some spots. The fretboard shows normal discoloration heavy play, and below the strings there is slap wear a-la Victor Wooten.. close-ups below.
This bass comes with the original Bartolini pre-amp and electronics. This one has the two channel pre-amp (NTMB?) with two 3-way switches that control tone-shaping for each channel. Bass also comes with the original hard-shelled case, which is also well-worn.
This is a great bass for someone wanting to learn fretless but not spend a ton, or even someone who owns a growler but wants a fretless counterpart. Or even someone who wants a spare of the elusive Bartolini pre-amp that these shipped with originally. The bass is ridiculously light, weighing in at just under 8 lbs on the bathroom scale.
Photos below.. feel free to ask any questions!

Here you can see some of the wear below the strings from 10 years of slap bass.. hard to see in the photo but you can see the contours of the wood where it is worn away.

Here is some wear right above the fretboard where the fretboard was used as a thumb rest

Close up of fretboard.. you can see where some chipping occurred from the defret.
