FS: Dingwall ABII Burl Burst X-Top

Up for grabs is this beautiful Limited Edition, #2 of 10, Dingwall Afterburner II with a Burl Burst X-top, serial #4035 with COA.

It has a chambered Walnut body with a Burl top and the neck is made from Walnut and has a Bubinga fretboard. It weighs in at 8.5 lbs on my digital bath scale.

Electronics are Dingwall FD3’s with an 18v Aguilar OBP-1 preamp; bass is boost-only, the treble is boost/cut and also works as a passive tone control when the bass is in passive mode. Passive mode is accessed with the mini-switch. Other controls are master volume and pickup blend.

The bass is in excellent condition (9 out of 10), the neck is straight, frets are good, and the pots are clean. The only flaws I can find are one small ding in the headstock (see close up photo) and some very light finish hazing at the top of the pickups where your thumb would anchor.

The bass is equipped with Dunlop Straplok’s and comes with 2 brand new sets of Dingwall strings, 2 reconditioned sets and various other new individual Dingwall strings. It also will ship in an AXE Music flight case to ensure that it arrives to the new owner in perfect condition.

This bass plays and sounds amazing and if not for the 18mm string spacing, it wouldn't be going anywhere. I just cannot for the life of me get comfortable with narrow string spacings.

Pics can be found here: http://s925.photobucket.com/albums/a...ngwall%20ABII/

Asking $2750 shipped to anywhere in the CONUS, no international sales, PayPal accepted. Local pickup is also available.

The only trades I might be interested in are for either a Lakland 55-94 or a Lakland 4-94/44-94.

Thanks for looking!

I'm not a very good photographer and it's very hard (for me) to capture the true beauty of this bass. Here are a couple of shots of the bass that came directly from the Afterburner II gallery on the Dingwall website.

Color in photos

The pictures from the Dingwall gallery seem to be more "red" than the pictures you took. To the naked eye, is the red towards the edges of the bass more pronounced?

I would say yes. The best pics to use to judge the actual color of this bass are the ones from the Dingwall website.

And the workmanship that Sheldon puts into his basses is just outstanding.

After reading my original posting I realized I had inadvertently listed the preamp as a Aguilar OBP-2, the actual preamp in this bass is the Aguilar OBP-1. Sorry for the confusion on my part, I'll chalk it up to a senior moment...
