FS-Douglas 51 P old tele headstock and Fender pickup

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Douglas 51 P in great shape. Action is medium and intonation is great with a set of TI flats. The TI's are fairly old wand the silk is in bad shape.

Truss rod works well.

The headstock has had a Fender decal professionally installed. The pickup is a Fender also professionally installed with copper shielding. Alder body.

This bass sounds and looks cool. It's just not my thing. I like a bridge pickup.

Nut is thin for a P bass. It's not even 1.5" at the nut. Its lighter than my G&L SB-2. Bathroom scale puts it at 9 pounds.

I'll throw in a set of chromes in you want them. I also have the original pickup.

$175 $150 $140 shipped in a generic gigbag. Paypal and CONUS only. Or best offer. I may consider trades for passive 4 stringers.

Another shot of the neck from the headstock. The last pic makes the neck look like it has a huge bow.

Pickup,, you say Fender,, please can you be more specific. Also is finish on body a laminate? I had a Jay Turser bass once that was this body style and the natural finish was a laminate. Thankyou.

I'm not sure what you mean by laminate. As far as I know, it looks like a 2 piece alder body with better matched grains than many Fenders I have seen.
