I am GOING to regret this, but I already have a BB2000, so here goes:
For Sale is an early 1980s Yamaha BB1000s. Neck Through. Reverse PJ configuration with three-way-toggle. Lee Sklar played one of these.
It SOUNDS very modern, which is to say exactly like by BB2000 but a little brighter. Check out the Yellowjackets self-titled album to hear a similar tone (Haslip was playing a BB2000).
Cosmetically it's worn but not abused. Lots of little scratches but no particularly bad ones. There are a few small spots where it looks as if some tiny dings were treated with some kind of putty, though these are few and small to spot (visible in the pictures as the tiny white dots).
When I first received the bass the truss rod was loosened entirely. I spent 10 days gradually cranking it to achieve just the right amount of relief. It moved effortlessly, and has remained perfectly stable for several weeks, making me think that the former owner just liked it that way. Action is VERY low, making it very easy to play.
Will include a case, just not the original one. I don't have it - it was likely lost to the ages. Will ALSO include an SKB flight case. Two cases in one.
Asking $500 shipped CONUS.

I owned one just like this many years back. Great bass!
Best of luck with the sale.....
