| | ...and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.. | | Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: NYC | | Guys, this was my bass for a few years and I can honestly say it is an absolute pleasure to play. The neck is just the right size, the body contours are perfect..the bass is Comfortable with a capital C. The Pau Ferro board has some nice grain...also excellent grain to the Ash body as well.
When you couple these things with Rogers impeccable construction and fretwork, it is a winning combo. All wrapped up in a very elegant package.
This is a solid swamp ash body (excellent resonance) and the bass weighs 8.4 lbs. if I remember correctly. This is an excellent chance for you to own a great bass at a great price. Do not hesitate.
Sorry for the semi-hijack Steve. This bass definitely evokes a strong emotional response in me. I PM'd you about the typo (it's a '98 folks not an '89)
Good look here at the graining on the fretboard |

The difference in newer standard NYC basses is in the thicker headstock and graphite strips in the neck. Correct me if I'm wrong - there are definitely some guys on here who are experts in this area! |

Of course, as one of Nashville's top pros, Steve always sounds downright homicidal - but this bass' tone is fabulous, really a standout even among Sadowskys, IMHO. Punchy AND broad, really well-defined and sitting just perfectly in the live mix. I'd snag it myself if I was sitting on extra cash. And I don't think you could find a better cat to buy a used bass from. Someone's gonna get a great bass. Oh - and no, I don't owe Steve money. |

There is something else hanging on a wall that is screaming my name right now, though. No, you don't owe any money, and in good vibes you are always paid in full! |

A spoke wheel is just a contemporary truss rod design. Much easier to contend with when adjusting. Lots of articles on TB. Thanks for the bumps! |
